caffeineshock 18 Posted December 22, 2025 Posted December 22, 2025 Hi everyone, for a while now Emby hasn’t been showing the next episode of partially watched TV shows on the home screen. This happens no matter which device I use: Nvidia Shield, Android phone or tablet, or even in the browser, so it seems to be completely device-independent. In general, the “Continue Watching” section doesn’t get updated with new episodes at all. Shows I’ve already started just don’t progress to the next episode, even though my watch status is tracked correctly. Has anyone else run into this issue or knows what might cause it? Any hints or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!
GrimReaper 4739 Posted December 22, 2025 Posted December 22, 2025 Could you provide a specific example with few screenshots, as I don't see any issues with CW row tracking?
caffeineshock 18 Posted December 22, 2025 Author Posted December 22, 2025 I don't know what you want to see It's just any TV show I start watching, no matter which (tried several). After watching 1 2 10 episodes, a season 2 or 3,does not matter, the TV show does not appear in "continue watching". Movies however still do appear if stopped between 5% and 90% (my setting for continue watching. Same setting for TV shows). Screenshot of a show that never appeared in "continue watching", no matter if I finish an episode, a season or after 20 minutes. But 8t does not matter, not a single TV show appears in the list (it worked in the past)

But since it's affecting all of your TV shows, it might be something systemic - you can play an episode and post debug server log afterwards in order for potential errors to be glimpsed, if any. caffeineshock 18 Posted December 22, 2025 Author Posted December 22, 2025 didnt expect it to matter in this case, but yeah, sure thanks for looking into it timestamp tv series: start 16:08 end 17:02 which does not appear in "continue watching"; timestamp movie start 15:47 end 15:48 does appear in "continue watching" embyserver.txt
Lessaj 467 Posted December 22, 2025 Posted December 22, 2025 I don't know if this would be related but your Trakt plugin is just throwing 401 Unauthorized errors every time it's makes a call. Do you use Trakt? It would probably be best to remove it for now. You have quite a lot of plugins, I wouldn't be surprised if one of the devs asks you to try removing a number of them and restarting the server to see if that helps. But Trakt currently sticks out like a sore thumb for unauthorized errors.
Luke 42077 Posted December 22, 2025 Posted December 22, 2025 Also have you checked your Emby user Home Screen settings?
