edsanchez07 0 Posted December 20, 2025 Posted December 20, 2025 Hi Community, Probably the subject is explaining the issue, but just in case, I noticed that the Android TV Emby App works better on my Nvidia Shield TV. Also, not sure if these are known issues. Two issues so far happening on the Android Emby App: HDR not displaying properly (LG TV shows when you are playing HDR content) or at all. Time-shift for Live TV channels doesn't work. Both issues are not present in the Android TV App. Any ideas on how to approach the problem? Mostly because the Android App looks better and more polished and I know the future plan on stop supporting the Android TV App. Thanks,

However, the Time-shift issue continues.

I use the NVSHield Pro 2019 as well and Live TV time shift works if you seletct "Force Conversion for Formats MPEGTS" in the playback settings for the Android App. However subtitles won't work when that is selected. I have given up on the Android app and only use the Android TV app for my android devices. There are too many unresolved issues with the Android app. Emby is still supporting the Android TV app as it was just updated just a couple weeks ago. Most likely it will continue to be available for years as there are many users like myself who still like it better. Edited January 1 by myoldvcr

I got it working by just disabling the "Prefer direct streaming of Live TV" didn't have to force the transcoding for MPEGTS. I could see some advantages from the Android TV App as you mentioned, hopefully they keep updating it.
