Holgiwood72 2 Posted December 19, 2025 Posted December 19, 2025 Well, again here, some might remember me! As I didn't resolved my Problems on DS220j, I tried an extra Server, based on Linux from Suse. This Works! Now I am trying again, to get a 2nd Server on that Nas, for internal Requests. Same procedure, it's not performant! (With Version 4.9.1.90) I would appreciate any support from you! greetings Holger
Luke 42077 Posted December 19, 2025 Posted December 19, 2025 Hi there, please attach the Emby server log from when the problem occurred: How to Report a Problem Thanks!
Holgiwood72 2 Posted December 20, 2025 Author Posted December 20, 2025 Yes, sure, you're right embyserver.txt
Holgiwood72 2 Posted December 20, 2025 Author Posted December 20, 2025 Some Information around. The Mediafiles are stored on the Synology DS220j itself. The other Server mount the Media-Shares from there. When I open the startpage of Emby, it takes on the NAS at 4 times longer to load, as on the other Server. The Configuration is almost identical. Well, OK, that other Server have i5 quadcore CPU and more RAM. It has only Webmin and Emby running. The Synology DS220j is only dualcore. There are some Services running, like DLNA, Web-Server, Cloud-Backup and so on, but nothing is in use, when it loads Emby delayed. The Storage have 2 Drives with 14TB mirrored. The Problem is almost permanent and I tried from serveral other Devices (Notebook, PC, Smartphone). I klick something, for examble opening the Server-Maintenance, and it takes about 10 seconds to load that Page. The CPU/RAM is never at limit that time. Other operations, like filetransfers are done very fast on the NAS. Maybe the NAS is to old or not strong enough to handle with the Emby-Webinterface?
Solution Tandhruil 26 Posted December 24, 2025 Solution Posted December 24, 2025 I Had a DS220j and it appear that this kind of NAS doesn't have enough RAM to work properly (512 Mo) It works with a small database but when you have too many entries it spend time to swap.
Holgiwood72 2 Posted December 25, 2025 Author Posted December 25, 2025 For my Part, I have some Devices (f. E. JVC TV) where DLNA from the Synology NAS works, but DLNA from Emby don't. This may depend on used DLNA-Version. For that Reason, DLNA of Emby is turned of on the D220j. As Tandhruil confirmed, I think there's no Chance to run Emby with all Libraries on that D220j. I will lookup for something new in near Future. Alternatly I had secured my Settings on the PC where Emby is running, so it's possible to add internal Libraries there (Photos/Videos/Camera Uploads) without presenting strangers. You csn close the ticket. Thanks at all and Merry Christmas!
Holgiwood72 2 Posted December 26, 2025 Author Posted December 26, 2025 I don't know, my JVC-TV seems to not accept everything. There's no Problem with Samsung or others. Should be specific to this TV, and we should not analyse that. If Emby App would be available there, this could help! DLNA is very inconstant at all on this device. Well, I see, it's at least not realizable to develop an App for All Devices!
Luke 42077 Posted December 27, 2025 Posted December 27, 2025 Does your TV use a google app store, or is it using Vewd?
Holgiwood72 2 Posted December 28, 2025 Author Posted December 28, 2025 Nothing of both. Type: JVC LT-43VUQ3455 powered by Tivo.
Luke 42077 Posted December 29, 2025 Posted December 29, 2025 OK we'll have to look into that. Thanks.
Holgiwood72 2 Posted December 30, 2025 Author Posted December 30, 2025 Back to the Topic of this Thread. I've bought an Synology DS220+ with 10GB RAM. I think this is the only Solution to solve the Problem, having Emby directly and fast on the NAS. To have Emby on that JVC TV would be great, as this TV is only 1 year old. Tivo is used by some wellknown brands (Vestel-Group). I will check from time to time, if Emby is available on the JVC TV, but that's only "nice to have". I have 2 more TV from Panasonic and Samsung were Emby is not available, but they are more than 7 Years old and I don't think, there's a chance to get Emby on this, except about the build-in Internetbrowser. That's OK. Thanks again for your support. best regards Holger

Luke 42077 Posted January 7 Posted January 7 OK so that means it ships with apps preloaded right? Those are apps whose companies have partnerships with Jvc.
Holgiwood72 2 Posted January 7 Author Posted January 7 Preloaded right. But I think, that's not depended on relationship with JVC. As Tivo is used by Vestel group, there are more brands, using it. (Grundig, Telefunken, f. e.). It should be Tivo, which ( maybe dependend on the target country of the device) is offering this apps. For germany ARD/ZDF are included. Maybe, the developers of Tivo are interested to offer emby too? Should be asked for, right? 1

Well after a little research in google: TiVo (TiVo (Television Input / Video Output)) is a well known brand for Set-Top-Boxes, but they have cancelled the production of hardware that kind last year. The TV-OS is offered to and integrated by many brands (Panasonic, Sharp, Vestel (Telefunken, JVC), Medion). The brands itself decide about which Apps are available on the TV-Models. TiVo belongs since 2020 to the Xperi Holding Corporation. As I also see f.E. Plex on my JVC-TV, it shouldn't be hard to offer the Emby-App to TiVo. And the Brands will follow and will offer that App too. (It takes no Bread, as we say in Germany). I've a Premium Lizenz of Emby, and now, with my new NAS Synology DS220+, Emby works fast and efficient. I'm excited about! Many others will be excited too, when the Emby-App is really available on almost every Device! I've nothing more to say in this Thread, the rest belongs to your internal decisions about that. 1
