Hi all

So I am visiting family and they got a old LG E6 TV on WebOS. It updated today and now I cannot connect to my server.

I dont see any logs on my server side which means its not making a connection. Has there been a cert change again?

Is Emby no longer woking on old LG TVs?

It was working last year so this was after they changed LetsEncrypt CA root but I am now on ZeroSSL on server.

Hi, I guess the bigger question is do we know if Zero SSL certs are still working with these TVs?

I couldn't really say.  It's a 2016 model, so it's earlier than anything I have. It's probably coincidental that it stopped working now, or was it definately working prior to the firmware update?

Thanks. I doubt it woruld have been caused by an app update, but it could have been a firmware update or you've possibly hit a certificate expiry date.

Just double check that it is still connecting with the correct https:// server address and port.  Can you connect from that location via a PC and web browser using https, just to make sure that the server is still reachable?

You could try full uninstalling the app (don't just remove the home shortcut) then remove power from the TV for a few minutes, then try reinstalling.  It's possible that the app installation has jus become corrupted - I have seen that before on more than a few cases.

Alternatively, as a test can you try connecting using a plain http (not https) connection?

There been no firmware updates for a while. Not updated it since it was last working.

Thanks for help but decided to switch apps and now working fine on other app

OK, but uninstall/reinstall sounds like definately worth a try.  I have seen the app install get corrupt and do weird things on multiple occassions. It is possible that you have hit an expiry on a certificate, in which case that's much harder for us to resolve if you want https

I hate to say this but you may need to root the TV and add 3rd party app store along with a app available to update the certificates there's a guide on reddit but not sure how easy the process is nor would I recommend trying it unless you have a spair TV if anything goes wrong, I DO NOT recommend trying this unless you want to, and I take zero responsibility if anything goes wrong
