Streams skip while moving/copying files disk i/o

Hello I have an issue when i copy files to my server drive. The hard drive is maxing out and my media starts to skip. Is there a way to prioritize the sever for disk usage or maybe throttle the files being sent to it? I usually send the files over the network to my server.

Hi, the only thing I can think of would be to use different software for file transfers that lets you throttle the operations.

OK thank you I thought this would be something everyone knew about and encountered. I will look into some type of throttling application.
