Update 4.9.1.90 freezes under load

just noticed a recording fail on my alerts screen.

It repeats this task every minute for 10+ mins then finially gives up.

I have tons of recordings set.  is it now repeating this task for each recording?

it used to try 1-2 times and give up.  is there an adjustment for this retry?

I love the more retries but if it is missing more then 5 mins of recording then i do not want half a program recorded.

If I have 300 recordings set, just example not sure exact number, is it repeating this task for 300 recordings every minute?

Also I have noticed in the last year some of my tasks are missing in the menu.  example, used to have refresh tv channel and refresh guide.  now it just has refresh guide and the channels only refreshes when i add or remove an iptv m3u.

Why is my current recordings not showing up on dashboard>? is that because i removed the live recording folder from the library? it should still be showing up reguardless of that folder being active.  Now i can only see recording on the guide. or on schedule

the tasks are shrinking it seems.  is this normal?

Do you want me to 7z my whole server? or just a few files needed like setting. already know you would not want cache or temp.

just thought maybe if you open my server and look at a shadow. maybe you would see something easier.

or know why the log is doing what you are looking at. then there would be sugar in the tea

Also i was thinking the other day, i am running the unlimited connections hack patch on my nvidea, I have not updated it manually in 6+ months, maybe a year, it is due for this task.  however, just because its unlimited tasks, doesnt mean it doesnt have a max, is it possible to detect a 90% usuage of an excel device and the move down the list to the next video excel? or maybe limit top selection to 15 or 20 then move down to next video card limit 5, then cpu takes it all in the bucket at the end? wishful thinking but possiby and amazing

remember i deleted the recording folder so the live recordings didint show up and stick?

guess where it ended up going... the live tv settings all went blank...

is was thinking before bed. is there any possible way to get a screen pulled up so I can watch the code excute on the fly?

this would be really helpful to see what its getting stuck on and to see tasks that are not user config that maybe a plugin with issues.

with 3 iptv servers and tons of channels.. does that have a task that is repeating too much without need?

or the recordings repeat too often without need?  I have seen less channel stops at the top of the hour on the resent updates.

if channel stops longer then 10+ seconds or closer to 20sec the channel rarely returns without restarting the channel.

if a channel is recording and it stops 15+mins in then the recording is over. delete and wait for next air time.

dont want to take this far off topic, but if the server  is stalling under load, then recordings stop. so its is kinda related.

lol, i'll work on this one, just spent 4 hours with fiber internet issues. its off topic anyway. lol

I see several things on beta that may help my issues.  I read the changelog on the stable rease today.  it fianlly shows up asking to restart server..

I wish it would ask me that day or the next day instead of realizing it can not auto restart due to always being busy recording or watching.

tonight i will reboot for the stable update.  However I see several thinigs in beta that has my att.

I put * next to the updates that may help resolve or help my server and the more stars the more att it has of mine atm.

I am intel cpu and avoid amd.  I have had much better smooth cpu with intel in the past and I have faith in intel and Geforce combos VS AMD CPU combos. but todays amd, it maybe just pref now. I want to upgrade my system from 3000 series GF to the newest 5000 or better. But i am waiting to see if this laggy emby can be resolved before cloning the drive and swaping the system out.  I dont want to create any more issues.

should i go beta or wait? I do not see any changes in this stable reboot tonight that would help.  I'm still getting pauses and it does it on everything. main screen, guide, trying to select details on a show.  sometimes its fast, sometimes it 5-15 sec less times no load or tired of waiting too long of a wait.  i'm not tryin to rush you by no means.  But i'm also trying to let you see the issue that was done so others dont have the issue.  I'm ready to start purging recordings and 20gb+ temp folders.  I have no idea what addons are being used or not used.  wish there was a addon use counter so i know how important each one is. i wold purge addons too.

luke, idk what the last update did, but i think we maby in the green now.

I noticed this moring watching live IPTV no buffer and not a single channel stop.

But i do not see anything is the update that would have linked to this?

Also got a report from another person stating running better on pause and resume live IPTV with no glitch.

but i'm still keeping an eye on it. just in case

found a long pause.. I have a slow lady that is seaching and before she can type another letter on the ROKU it searches.. so,, i end up slammed with 10 or more searches in a row... I also ran into this issue myself and i am not slow.  This fast way is ok for small servers.  but i have 1000;s of channels and lots of users.

I need this slowed down so it is not searching before the person is done typing.

NO CPU spikes durring this time and is should be. However, the searches could be sped up using more cpu or faster code or search slowed down.

The easy fix is slow down the searches.  How do I adjust this setting?

What's going on with Roku, nobody can watch live TV. It plays for maybe 15-20 minutes stops, rewinds maybe one minute, starts playing again and then stops. It just sits there. Then if you try to stop the channel on reload it it stays at 26%. This only happens on the Roku devices that are on my system. I noticed it on my Roku TV trying to play the game over the weekend. But then I had three other people tell me there's was doing the exact same thing. 

I break out my Nvidia box hook it up to the same Roku TV. Using the older app, and the settings set for direct stream, everything working fine, I've watched the 80% of the game with hardly no glitch at all.

Roku TV, it updates itself, I don't know what version it is. You want me to turn on my Roku TV and tell you what the current Roku version it is? It has done it on every Roku device I have ran into. And now I feel horrible that myself even has a Roku TV. And I'm scared to death to tell people to get Amazon fire stick, with all the bad updates they coming out with now. So I'm just going to stick with Nvidia for now until stuff slows down a little bit.
