AL_Hifi 1 Posted December 15, 2025 Posted December 15, 2025 Hello, I am currently using Emby Server version 4.9.2.7 on two Synology NAS devices with processors of varying power, which is working well so far. However, what is hardly working is the Emby client on Android on a Samsung Galaxy A8! Playback on the Emby client is choppy and unusable. Now, one could say that the tablet is already quite old, but the server also runs in DNLA mode, so that I can also access it with the VLC player, for example, which is of course not as convenient... but it works perfectly!!! So what is the difference between accessing it via the Emby client and the VLC player on Android? In the user settings for accessing it via the Emby client, transcoding is disabled, for example, so why doesn't it work anyway? I have read similar posts here in the forum, but they are now six months old or even older... kind regards AL Hifi
Luke 42077 Posted December 15, 2025 Posted December 15, 2025 Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!

These issues have been lingering for years now on the standard android app. Emby devs don't seem to care enough to fix playback on their most popular app.
