softworkz 5066 Posted December 19, 2025 Posted December 19, 2025 There are a number of places where volume can be controlled: Inside MPV player Windows per-App sound mixer Windows global volume Sometimes, audio devices have their own additional software control for volume Hardware volume (in case of speakers) and additional knobs that are possibly affecting volume: Speaker layout mismatch (try set explicitly Windows speaker layout setup (right-click device in Windows settings and select "Set up speakers" Dynamic range compression enabled So, please go through all of these and check. Two things for reducing confusion and number of places involved: Enable "Exclusive audio mode" Enable "Ignore volume control commands

Lessaj 467 Posted December 19, 2025 Posted December 19, 2025 (edited) What do you have set on the server side for "Audio boost when downmixing" in the Transcoding section? I think that AC3 5.1 -> MP3 is a 2.0 downmix. Edited December 19, 2025 by Lessaj
