Daniel1966 6 Posted December 14, 2025 Posted December 14, 2025 (edited) . I have content that is named in the proper way for TV episodes: S01E01 - Title 1.mp4 S01E02 - Title 2 [1080p].mkv S01E03 - Title 3.mp4 etc..... These are not anything that would be found in IMDB or any other database. It's a folder of Music Videos that I created and named as if it was a TV show. But the metadata field for Season and Episode Number are blank. Metadata is not locked. Shouldn't it read the Season and Episode number from the properly-named Filename? . I have run a library scan many times and these fields never get filled in. Without these numbers, the episodes do not list in the correct order. Am I missing something? . . Also, Note that on the main page, it shows 12 videos, but there are actually 60 videos in this folder. And if you go into the folder, all 60 videos are there, but just wondering why it says 12 on the Season. Any ideas? They are all MKV and MP4 files. . I am on Windows 11, latest server. (I have had issues in the past with someone getting angry over my ability to identify what kind of server I am using. I don't know how to say it any differently or better. It's Windows 11. I use Chrome. I have the standard version [not Premiere]). I would really appreciate only getting a response if you can be polite and helpful. . . Edited December 14, 2025 by Daniel1966 spelling

Nope, those are populated if match with the online providers is found - as there are no matches, you get none populated. Edit: Just learned that it should. 2 hours ago, Daniel1966 said: Also, Note that on the main page, it shows 12 videos, but there are actually 60 videos in this folder. You likely have some of those videos marked as Played. Edited December 14, 2025 by GrimReaper Append
Daniel1966 6 Posted December 14, 2025 Author Posted December 14, 2025 Am I to understand then that I have to go in to each file's metadata and manually add the Season and Episode Number? I feel like I must be approaching this wrong.

Either that or use Home Videos & Photos content type library and browse by Filename. Edit: Looks like it shouldn't be necessary, just need to trace why those season/episode numbers are not getting imported autmatically. Edited December 14, 2025 by GrimReaper Append
Luke 42077 Posted December 14, 2025 Posted December 14, 2025 Quote Shouldn't it read the Season and Episode number from the properly-named Filename? Hi, yes it should. But i notice the name of your folder is music videos. You didn't by any chance add this same folder into multiple libraries with different content types, did you?

I was always under the impression it wouldn't - but you are right, just tested with OP's naming scheme and it does get picked up. Thanks. @Daniel1966 looks like you were right, it should've been picked up. 1
