Restricting new Channels in IPTV M3U

Question: I've just started getting heavily into this. I've figured out how to set everything up and also sort channels. I group my channels by channel number so (example) all sports has channel 250 then they sort thereafter, news 110 etc.  My issue is if the M3U comes with a new channel, most times there is no channel number. These generally do not include epg mapping so the guide is blank for these channels. Since as noted I sort by channel # it puts blank channels on top. I can somewhat mitigate this by making some channels as favorites and sort via favorite/channel#. This helps but then either I have to make all of the channels that are mapped as favorites or I will have gap where these channels have arrived.  Is there a way to default a channel number so I can put (example) 10000 so it will fall to the bottom of the guide or is there a way new ones just don't show up for viewing if not mapped to a guide?
