M4 Mac Mini Hardware Transcoding Timeframe?

Can we get a possible time frame for when the M4 Mac Mini will get the ability to hardware transcode? Everything I've read the reply is always "we are working on it". I want to purchase one but if that feature is years out from being implemented I would like to know. Is it weeks, months, or years down the line?

Wasn't Jellyfin made from a portion of Emby code? Can't the Emby devs just grab the open source code of Jellyfin and implement it into Emby (I'm sure its not that easy but maybe they can look at Jellyfins code and use it as a guide as to how they would implement it in Emby)
