Remote Music Stream Issue

This weekend I finally opened my DXP4800 Plus, installed a 16 TB HDD, and 1 2tb SSD (app storage) i have another 1 TB SSD on the way (for cache).

Once set up, I followed this guide https://mariushosting.com/how-to-install-emby-with-hardware-transcoding-on-your-ugreen-nas/ to get Emby up and running, since Docker is completely new to me. I previously ran Emby on a Windows PC with a bunch of external HDD.

I took the old emby network down and set up the new one. In my Nest Wifi Pro I set up an IP reservation for the NAS and port forwarding for remote emby access.

Today and yesterday when streaming any music I'll get a good one or two songs and it just quits working. I've tested via Emby android application and webapp with same results. Sometimes it will even occur about 1/2 way through a song and just quits playing, when reviewing the "Now Playing" section it showed the transcoding was finished, so I can't figure out what the issue is. It's only happening with music, video streams are all okay (remote) so far.

Log attached. Thank you for any assistance!

Hi there, what time did the problem occur?

Pretty sure I have figured it out, will report back later with what the issue was and the steps I took to fix it so long as I don't run into any issues today.

Fixed.

When I reviewd the logs I saw that my phone is asking the server for a limit of 1 Mbps, the FLAC audio file was a FLAC 3.2Mbps, therefore Emby was trying to transcode the file to AAC and force it into the 1Mbps limit, failing and hitting an invisible wall of 1Mbps. This was confirmed with the stats for needs section also while streaming certain FLAC files remotely. I went into Emby server settings on the webapp and opened up playback, saw audio was set to "Auto" and switch to 4 Mbps. I have had no issues since and have streamed the entire album without the stream just abruptly ending.

Not sure why I am having this problem though, another user of the server has the same profile set up as I do and same phone and does not have these issues with "Auto" set. Nevertheless, its fixed and feels kind of good to have figured this out on my own.

Auto is a 🤷‍♂️show.

Always set it to you needs.

Hi, we’ll take a look at this. Thanks.

That's a weird one, especially since video is streaming fine! Since the logs show the transcoding finished but the song still quit, it sounds like some kind of stream hang or client disconnect right after the transcode buffer completes. Hopefully, those logs and the timestamp you sent to Luke will get them straight to the root cause on that UGREEN setup!

HI, we found an issue with music transcoding that is resolved for the next release of the server. Thanks !
