JuJuJurassic 49 Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 Hi All, The Tune-In plugin isn't appearing on the home screen. I've looked through the server.log, attached, and it appears not to be loading. Can anyone give me any suggestions on how to fix it, please Thanks embyserver(9).txt
Luke 42077 Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 Hi there, where exactly are you looking for it?

JuJuJurassic 49 Posted December 10, 2025 Author Posted December 10, 2025 (edited) it was there,it just seems to have disappeared, but that was before the upgrade to the current version Edited December 10, 2025 by JuJuJurassic
Luke 42077 Posted December 11, 2025 Posted December 11, 2025 Have you verified that the user who is logged in is granted access to it?
JuJuJurassic 49 Posted December 11, 2025 Author Posted December 11, 2025 (edited) i can't see any restrictions. I removed it, checked the plugins folder and the dll was still there, so I deleted it, rebooted the server and added it, and it's there now. But when I go into it there are no languages/ locations/ Music etc, only Local radio, which works. Local radio has; The channels work, but if you go into "all UK", after drilling down it says no options my lat / long is close enough at (53.793850, -1.752440) I've tested the login id on the TuneIn website, and I've logged in ok. Any ideas? Edited December 11, 2025 by JuJuJurassic
JuJuJurassic 49 Posted December 11, 2025 Author Posted December 11, 2025 I put the logs into chatgpt it came up with the following, is it right? " The problem with the TuneIn plugin is already visible in your logs Your Emby server starts normally, but nowhere in the startup log is the TuneIn plugin initializing any menu, API, or category loader. The TuneIn plugin loads: Loading MediaBrowser.Plugins.TuneIn, Version=1.2.6.0 …but after that, there are ZERO log entries from it. This is the key: ▶ The TuneIn plugin is not compatible with Emby Server 4.9.x (your version) Version 1.2.6.0 of the plugin was written for Emby 4.5 / 4.6, and it has not been updated in years. With Emby 4.8+ and 4.9.x, the old TuneIn plugin: Loads its DLL ✔ But fails to register any UI handlers Fails to fetch any categories Results in “No options available” in the web UI No crash logs, because the old plugin simply fails silently This behaviour is exactly what you're seeing."
JuJuJurassic 49 Posted December 11, 2025 Author Posted December 11, 2025 it then says; How to confirm the issue You can check the plugin folder: /var/lib/emby/plugins/MediaBrowser.Plugins.TuneIn You’ll likely find: No config JSON being generated No UI resources folder No calls from the plugin after initial loading Because the plugin API changed after 4.6 and the old plugin doesn’t know how to register. How to fix it (your options) OPTION 1 — Remove TuneIn and use custom TuneIn streams (recommended) TuneIn still exposes direct stream URLs if you know the station. Add stations manually: Emby → Music → Add music folder → Add Internet radio stream (M3U URL) You can create a simple M3U file like: #EXTM3U #EXTINF:-1,BBC Radio 1 http://stream.live.vc.bbcmedia.co.uk/bbc_radio_one Then Emby will show them normally. OPTION 2 — Replace TuneIn with a working radio plugin The PodCasts plugin now supports direct stream links and behaves more reliably. Or use: Shoutcast Icecast directory (These are more reliable and compatible with Emby 4.9.) OPTION 3 — Try an unofficial rebuilt TuneIn plugin (if available) Some users have recompiled TuneIn for 4.7–4.9. If you want, I can try to locate a compatible version if you tell me the OS (looks like Ubuntu 20.04?) and architecture (x64). OPTION 4 — Roll back to Emby Server 4.6 (not recommended) Only if TuneIn is absolutely essential. Your specific symptom “When I go into it, it says there are no options available.” This happens because the plugin cannot load: Categories Browse feeds Featured stations Account login (TuneIn API changed long ago) And Emby 4.9 no longer supports the old plugin UI model.
Luke 42077 Posted December 11, 2025 Posted December 11, 2025 Quote But when I go into it there are no languages/ locations/ Music etc, only Local radio, which works. As far as I know this is just the way it is. The TuneIn api returns empty data for some categories. I don't recall if we print anything to the log but it comes back with some kind of restricted message saying they want you to use an official tunein app for that particular content.
JuJuJurassic 49 Posted December 12, 2025 Author Posted December 12, 2025 Hi Luke, Previously, in Locations it would ask you the area, Europe, then the country, then the city. Non of these are now available. Chatgpt says there was a update on the community boards, but I can't find it. it offered to patch the current version for me, but I tried and failed. If I could share the chatGPT link I would , but it basically said tune in initialised then died. Have a go, it's quite interesting. Is there a solution? Thanks

Got the same issues here, just local radio that has any stations. The options just ask for a username and lat/lon, nothing else. Interestingly, the main page does give unrelated stations on the bar, just nothing in the folders: Have the feeling TuneIn changed a few things since this plugin was released...
