ndigo 0 Posted December 8, 2025 Posted December 8, 2025 Hello, I just purchased Emby Premier after using it free for a few months and I'm incredibly happy with the product and glad to show my support! I've had this strange issue from the beginning and not sure if it's hardware related to my server or something else. My server is a Lenovo Thinkcentre USFF, i5-9500T, 16GB DDR4, Samsung Pro 870 SSD, Intel UHD. My clients are a Windows desktop using Chrome and Android phones using Emby app. The issue is that often if we stop playback mid episode when we come back to Emby and resume it will just sit trying to load for maybe 30 seconds before timing out (I forget the exact error, I need to get a pic). The work around has been to pause, which then shows what time the episode should resume to, go back to previous episode, then go forward to next, and drag to that time. I've tried pausing and then resuming after with no luck, and also tried going back/forward 10 seconds. I thought it may be media related so I converted my entire library to MP4 and still have the issue. It's only with series, never with movies. It happens in network and remote. It's not a deal breaker, just a minor inconvenience, and thought I was check for any suggestions. Thanks!

Luke 42077 Posted December 8, 2025 Posted December 8, 2025 Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
ndigo 0 Posted December 8, 2025 Author Posted December 8, 2025 Hey Luke, here are logs all from within a few minutes of trying to resume an episode this morning. Thanks for the assistance! In my OP I mentioned converting everything to MP4, I actually meant MP4 and MKV. I had numerous WMV and AVI files that I converted, and I chose MP4 (H.264)for those as I read it was most compatible but I left the MKV as I read those should have been fine as well. I also set audio to AAC, Stereo. Logs.zip
ndigo 0 Posted December 17, 2025 Author Posted December 17, 2025 @LukeAny insights from the logs? Or need additional?
Neminem 1518 Posted December 17, 2025 Posted December 17, 2025 Try remuxing the subs you don't need out. Also try converting AAC 5.1 to AC3 5.1 What i don't get is this [segment @ 0000022a7f5474c0] Non-monotonous DTS in output stream 2:1; previous: 19577, current: 19577; changing to 19578. This may result in incorrect timestamps in the output file.
Luke 42077 Posted December 17, 2025 Posted December 17, 2025 @ndigoplease attach both the emby server and ffmpeg logs together. Thanks !
ndigo 0 Posted December 17, 2025 Author Posted December 17, 2025 @NeminemThanks for the advice, is this something I can do through Emby convert or should I use a 3rd party like Handbrake? I used Handbrake to convert everything not mp4/mkv to mp4.
ndigo 0 Posted December 17, 2025 Author Posted December 17, 2025 @LukeI have never seen ffmpeg logs, all of my files are mp4/mkv so if they are never transcoded would that not give a ffmpeg log?
