bruor 43 Posted December 6, 2025 Posted December 6, 2025 I've created some .strm files that point at streams for internet radio stations that are hosted as mpeg-ts streams. I've created a music library and pointed it to my folder that contains the .strm files. I've got NFO reader/writer enabled, structure is set to "other or unorganized" .strm files show up in the library when scanned. Emby transcodes them to audio only when attempting to play them. I can manually edit the metadata in the UI but it is never saved as .nfo to the library folder. Does anyone have an example of an .nfo file so I can manually create one for each .strm file I'm creating?
Luke 42077 Posted December 6, 2025 Posted December 6, 2025 Hi, is currently no support for nfo files for audio anyway. But you could make it a video library. You would just get the video UI during playback. 1
USkitzo 0 Posted December 12, 2025 Posted December 12, 2025 Hello guys, I’ve done pretty much the same thing and was thinking about switching it to a video library. My question is: if I’m using my phone, I won’t be able to lock it, right?
bruor 43 Posted December 12, 2025 Author Posted December 12, 2025 If it's video I'm pretty sure you won't be able to play it via official methods on android auto or carplay as well.
USkitzo 0 Posted December 12, 2025 Posted December 12, 2025 I’ll try it on my wife’s car, but I don’t have it on mine — only Bluetooth. I’ll let you know if you’re interested.
