playing DVD VOB: recap

Years ago I ripped all the DVD from my phisycal library to VIDEO_TS \ VOB structure and I correctly played them with Kodi.

I tried to add this collections to Emby server that scan it and seems to play tham but... it plays just the first VOB file then it stops.

I see on the forum that this way is not supported or there is an experimental approach, etc. etc.

Question: at the moment, what is the status of this topic? is there any way to have Emby play a VIDEO_TS folder containing VOBs ?

HI, this is the latest news on it. But if you play using Emby for Kodi it should be able to play the folder rip directly using Kodi's built in support.

I do not want to revert back to Kodi... I moved from Kodi to Emby...

The problem is not to convert DVD\VOBs to something like MKV or MP4... there are tons of tools that can do that, even in a batch way, just extracting the content or to transcode to something more efficient... The problem is that DVD\VOBs 99% of the time include also extra contents such as interviews, backstages, etc. that I do not how to play and organize them once converted.

Can you convert the movie and each extra to their own separate video files? Then you can organize with extras:
