ShadowKindjal 21 Posted December 4, 2025 Posted December 4, 2025 I'm noticing this issue across multiple media files and I'm wondering if anyone else is having this issue. On emby for Android 3.5.17, I'm dealing with an issue where video playback freezes after a few frames but audio continues playing like normal. I do not experience the issue playing the same video from the emby web app on the same device. I'm running server 4.9.1.90. I can try to pull logs tomorrow.
Luke 42077 Posted December 4, 2025 Posted December 4, 2025 Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!

Yes a lot of people are complaining about this. Use the android for TV app instead and notice the issue goes away.
JackBowman 35 Posted December 4, 2025 Posted December 4, 2025 I am experiencing this same issue, and have for awhile now. The Android for TV is a bit better but It still hangs on occasion for me.
EatPrilosec 22 Posted December 6, 2025 Posted December 6, 2025 I had this issue and fixed it by disabling HEVC encoding on the server 2
JackBowman 35 Posted December 7, 2025 Posted December 7, 2025 (edited) I don't seem to have that option. I can change the speed, but I thought Live TV coming from the HDHomerun was MPEG2. Edited December 7, 2025 by JackBowman

Emby devs spending years on features no one has asked for Meanwhile we can't even get basic video playback working. Why would any anyone give emby money to read an ebook on their freaking TV @Luke @ebr Is this ever going to get fixed? This android app has been garbage for years

So far, I've only noticed this issue on remote playback streams from within the android app. The issue does not present itself when immediately switching over to the web app from the same device on a remote connection. embyserver (22).txt.bak ffmpeg-transcode-c6c253b8-b3ab-466c-b0c1-d5ed17ab5be8_1.txt
ShadowKindjal 21 Posted January 24 Author Posted January 24 @LukeWere you able to review the files? I'm still having this issue when I'm connected remotely

Luke 42077 Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Hi, have you updated to Emby for Android 3.5.28? Has that helped?
