I have exhausted myself. First off I will review how to send you all the necessary logs and a time frame within those logs to pinpoint the bane of my Emby existence. I will do my best to get them to you. I just installed a new latest greatest HD Homerun tuner "SiliconDust HDHomeRun Flex 4K ATSC 3.0". I also installed a new Antennas Direct "ClearStream 4MAX Indoor Outdoor TV Antenna". All my desired channels are at 100 percent as the are only thirty miles away. The Live TV still hangs on a regular basis. The audio keeps playing but the picture freezes! I have used many different settings in an attempt to not loose my mind. The HDHomerun APP for my Google television works flawlessly as does using the VLC APP as an external player. It would be really nice to be able to set the MOVIE external player separately from the LIVETV external player as the movie player works great! HELP!

Hi. A separate external player is possible yes.

This may or may not help you in the interim but the old Android TV app does have a separate external player setting for Live TV.

Thanks! That would be a solution. Is the current version downward compatible data-wise with the older version?  Do you happen to know what the last version was that had the ability to choose an external play independently? A better solution would be to add this back to the current version.

I was wondering if I created an M3U file with my current channel line-up, would that be actual direct access to the HDHomerun? I don't need DVR, just reliable live tv watching. There are a few scripts that automate this now.

It would not be. It would still run through your server.

Hey, I can try and help test. I have the HDHomeRun Flex 4K, but haven't had the chance to get the antenna in the final spot so I haven't bothered bringing it into Emby. Right now I only get a few channels at where the antenna is located. 

What device are you using? (Assuming Google TV device based on comments)

How long does it take the feed to get messed up?

What is this setting set to on your server?


I added the tuner directly in emby without the allow hard transcoding and have been running a feed for over 20 minutes with no issues. I am using MacOS and my Google with Chromecast TV running the Android version (not Android TV) and got the same results one each one, no feed issues. Here are the stats from the feed.



Lastly if nothing else works and if you have the means to do so I would look into Dispatcharr. This would act like a middle man between your tuner and Emby. But you can adjust the stream profiles that are being sent to Emby and that could possible help with getting a stream. It has other useful tools, but thought it could help troubleshoot if nothing else works.
