Teddy 100 Posted December 3, 2025 Author Posted December 3, 2025 Just now, Teddy said: The latest Fire TV update fixed the trailer issue, but now I can't see the nested folders even though I haven't updated to Windows Server 4.9 and I'm still using version 4.8, which doesn't have this problem. Is there any way to make Fire TV display those nested folders like it does with Windows Server 4.8 web interface? Thanks in advance
Luke 42077 Posted December 3, 2025 Posted December 3, 2025 Hi, what version number of the app are you using? Can you please show screenshots to demonstrate what you are referring to? Thanks.
Teddy 100 Posted December 3, 2025 Author Posted December 3, 2025 Hello Luke, the Windows server is 4.8.11.0 and the Fire TV 21.29A. In the Windows app, nested directories are visible at the beginning, but not on the Fire TV.
Teddy 100 Posted December 3, 2025 Author Posted December 3, 2025 Yes. If I use the Android app, then it does show the nested folders, but I'm afraid that the next update will behave the same as the Fire TV app, because this change of not showing the nested folders happened after the update. I'm sending a screenshot of the Android app

Teddy 100 Posted December 4, 2025 Author Posted December 4, 2025 The only option the Fire app has is by name, not by files. I'll send you all the available options.
Teddy 100 Posted December 4, 2025 Author Posted December 4, 2025 Perhaps that selection was forgotten in this update. 1
Teddy 100 Posted December 4, 2025 Author Posted December 4, 2025 Previous versions of the Fire TV app showed nested folders, but this one doesn't. That's why I started this topic.
Teddy 100 Posted December 4, 2025 Author Posted December 4, 2025 But if it gets too complicated, I'll have to use the Android app and hope the same thing doesn't happen in future updates. 1

Both apps show the same thing. You need to be on the folders tab and now that I double check your screenshot, it doesn’t look like you are.
Teddy 100 Posted December 4, 2025 Author Posted December 4, 2025 There might be some confusion because the two apps weren't in English, but now they are. The first screenshot is from the Android app, which correctly displays the folders with nested movies. The next two screenshots are from the Fire TV app, where you can see that the view is the same whether you're viewing movies or folders. However, the nested folders aren't displayed in the folder view as they are in the Android app.
Solution Luke 42077 Posted December 4, 2025 Solution Posted December 4, 2025 Quote However, the nested folders aren't displayed in the folder view Hi, they are there, but they're just not sorted at the top because the app doesn't have the sort by files sort order.
Teddy 100 Posted December 4, 2025 Author Posted December 4, 2025 Thanks Luke, then I'll have to modify the sort title of each nested folder so they appear at the top. (Even though it did that for years with previous versions)

Teddy 100 Posted December 4, 2025 Author Posted December 4, 2025 Thanks Luke, but I think it gets a bit complicated since it's a Fire TV app that needs to be installed manually and then updated automatically when there is a new one. Adding the hyphen (-) to the sort title now shows the nested folders at the beginning. I'm happy with this solution. Thanks to support. 1
