Crash with M3U Live TV

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have subtitle mode set to "always play subtitles".

When I start playing Live TV from a M3U source that has closed captions with the stream and I try to turn off the subtitles, Emby for iOS crashes immediately.

If I set subtitle mode to "no subtitles" before starting the stream then it plays without subtitles without issue. This only happens with the iOS app, web player isn't affected.

Your first problem in this

MediaBrowser.Model.Net.HttpException: MediaBrowser.Model.Net.HttpException: hostname nor servname provided, or not known (www.mb3admin.com:443)
---> System.Net.Http.HttpRequestException: hostname nor servname provided, or not known (www.mb3admin.com:443)
---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException (0xFFFDFFFF): hostname nor servname provided, or not known

Your sever or client can't call home to verify license.

Fix that and try again.

I redacted the server logs and included only what I think is relevant, let me know if you need fuller logs.

Could you send me the full log file by private message and I will include it when i refer this to the development team

Is this only happening for Live TV?

@streamac I managed to reproduce the crash with user preference for subtitles to always show subtitles and then disabling the subtitle when streaming

Great, so you don’t need the full logs then? For me it only happens with Live TV, movies and TV are fine.

Well, it would be good to have in place supplementing the related Emby for iOS ips file that you provided.

HI, are you still seeing this with the latest update to Emby for iOS?
