charlesk 2 Posted November 30, 2025 Posted November 30, 2025 Hi - Recently a lot of movies are playing choppy on my Xbox one. They seem to play ok on Samsung TV, but not the Xbox. Sometimes pausing the playback helps (as if it's buffering somewhere in the background), but other times not. Sometimes it plays, but then gets choppy. Some movies worked fine in the past, but now are experiencing this choppiness, which is weird. I've looked at task manager on the windows server, and nothing seems to be maxing out, and Emby is saying everything is playing direct, and not even transcoding. So the current culprit is The Nightmare Before Christmas, where now I just want to try to resolve what's happeningembyserver.txthardware_detection-63900118207.txt. Attached are the server log and hardware detection logs. Can you see anything on here that might explain what's happening? Do I need to update some drivers or something? Thanks in advance!

When playing on my PC via a webbrowser, it transcodes the EAC3 5.1 to MP3 192 kbps. However for both the Samsung TV and the Xbox One, it's trying to direct play. I'm guessing that's the issue. I've re-attached new log files for a new MKV file. Bitrate for the video is 8597488, and for the audio is 640000. Is there a way I can get it to transcode or something specifically for the Xbox one and the Samsung TV to something it can better handle, so it doesn't try to directplay? embyserver (2).txt hardware_detection-63907277840 (1).txt
charlesk 2 Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago Interestingly I just now tried converting the file to "TV" profile, with original quality. The audio is now AAC5.1 on the new file instead of EAC3, and works fine on the Samsung TV. But still stutters on the Xbox.
