Downloads set to External ending up in Internal.

I have a Samsung S20FE with an external MicroSD card.

In Emby Android, in Settings, I have Download location set to External storage (Downloads).

However, when I download something, it ends up in INTERNAL STORAGE > DOWNLOAD > EMBY_DOWNLOADS.

I just tried this and you are right.

However if you choose Download location as "External storage (SD card)" it will go to the SD card in path:

Android/data/com.mb.android/files/Download

I will discuss with the development team but you should be able to use the SD card in the way I mentioned

My tests were on Emby for Android 3.5.17

Ah yeah but I want the files to be an accessible location. So looks like a bug but might keep as is for now.

The downloads files are intended for use by the Emby app and they are accessible to the app. The SD card feature is intended to give you more storage space for downloads.

I will refer this to the development team. The download files are accessible through adb  on a PC and there may be some file manager apps that would give access to the external storage Android/data folders.

Hi, maybe external isn't the right word for it. It is the app's designated external storage folder on the device, and on some devices, it won't actually map to your sd card.

I have just compared the Emby download implementation for download location: "External storage (SD card)" with the Plex for Android app download location set to "SD card" and it is similar. The plex downloads are not in user accessible location and are in the Android OS locked down location of "/storage/<SD-Card-ID>/Android/data"

In both cases they are accessible through the Android SDK adb tool but not through files viewer apps on the device
