hspantera 8 Posted November 26, 2025 Posted November 26, 2025 (edited) Since the new update on iPhone to version 2.2.45 when I start download the download reaches the end and starts again. Keep this in looping and never download and never end. Always in looping. Goes to end and restarts. Goes to end and restarts. I’m using beta version of windows server 4.9.2.6. But it was from the 2.2.45 update for iOS because I was on that version of server and everything worked fine. It’s easy to reproduce this error so hope you get it fix. Thanks. Luke 42077 Posted November 28, 2025 Posted November 28, 2025 HI there, can you please provide a specific example? How to Report a Problem Thanks !
hspantera 8 Posted November 28, 2025 Author Posted November 28, 2025 I now you want logs. But go to your iPhone and put something to download. And see if you can. The bar of download fills up but when reaches end it restarts again. And it’s always doing that and never downloads. I said in message it’s easy to replicate the issue.
hspantera 8 Posted November 28, 2025 Author Posted November 28, 2025 Here is video. And it’s always doing that. I’ve waited five times that restarted and it’s in loop mode. Reaches end and restarts. ScreenRecording_11-28-2025 06-50-35_1.mov
derycklong 0 Posted November 28, 2025 Posted November 28, 2025 I second this. I am facing the same problem.
WingDog 16 Posted December 1, 2025 Posted December 1, 2025 (edited) I'm facing the same issue. plus I'm facing additional problem - can't download just one Season, because it start to convert and transfer entire Series at once, which leads to a complete freeze of the iOS client. to solve this you need to clean up convert queue at the Server Dashboard main screen and transfer queue inside Downloads menu. very irrational interface. hspantera 8 Posted December 1, 2025 Author Posted December 1, 2025 There’s no way to fix this with any workaround. Must be fixed in a new iOS Emby update. I tested everything. And don’t work.
pg013 0 Posted December 3, 2025 Posted December 3, 2025 Also experiencing this issue. I’ve deleted/reinstalled the app numerous times and still have the issue.
rukbar 0 Posted December 5, 2025 Posted December 5, 2025 Same here. Tried all the above but no success :-(

hspantera 8 Posted December 5, 2025 Author Posted December 5, 2025 @Lukeyou are always asking to report problem. Please put Emby downloading something in iOS and you will see. This started happening since latest iOS update. There’s no specific example. The downloads don’t work. If you put downloading anything you will immediately see. I put this in November 26. You just need one minute to see the problem. The problem is happening with to all who updated to latest version.
hspantera 8 Posted December 5, 2025 Author Posted December 5, 2025 here are the logs. I put movie to download and it goes to the end and then restars the download again. entering in looping mode. I let looping 3 times. see if you can see wats wrong. thanks. embyserver.txt
Lenderjack 2 Posted December 7, 2025 Posted December 7, 2025 I have the same issue. Removed past downloads. Deleted and reinstalled Emby. Now those same ones I downloaded before are looping. Doesn’t matter what I attempt to download, all are looping. Not sure how to give a specific example, it’s literally every file I choose.
hspantera 8 Posted December 8, 2025 Author Posted December 8, 2025 @Luke did you find anything? Thanks.
NotTodayZurg 0 Posted December 8, 2025 Posted December 8, 2025 I am in the same boat and just wanted to put that I cleared cache, I even spun up a brand new Emby server with one movie in my library to see if it was related to server side and got the same looping on both the IOS app and Emby for Ipad. I can provide whatever logs you need.
pigpog8 8 Posted December 8, 2025 Posted December 8, 2025 Same issue, unable to download anything on my iPhone. I also deleted all of the downloads, deleted the app and reinstalled, restarted the server and my phone, to no avail.
Halbarath 0 Posted December 8, 2025 Posted December 8, 2025 Would be really nice if we could get an acknowledgement that this is now a known issue and it is being worked on. I tried to download one file and it kept looping and looping. Attached is the log output for the relevant timeframe emby.log
hspantera 8 Posted December 8, 2025 Author Posted December 8, 2025 Until now no answer from @Luke. This was related from me since day one of the 2.2.45 realese. It’s been over 15 days.
jbirmingham40 9 Posted December 8, 2025 Posted December 8, 2025 Having the same issue. Interestingly if you change the download location from internal storage to a local directory, you can see the download files. The app still does not show them but I can use VLC on the iPad to view the downloads. Not great but better than nothing. 2

I tested this out on one episode and was able to see the file in the folder, and play via VLC as well. I noticed the show's download status still says Transferring even after successfully downloading the file. Hopefully this may give @Lukesome insight as to what may be causing the issue.
displayname0504 11 Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 Just joining the group to say I'm having this issue too. and the looping downloads filled my phone storage up. I had to delete the app and reinstall to clear them.
Everisaicruz 0 Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 I am going through the exact same situation. Went to download some stuff for my vacation & it was stuck on loop. @Lukedo you have any idea when this issue could be resolved? Or does anyone else know how the admins take to respond with some sort of plan or give the community a timeframe?
