AsheAshe 8 Posted November 24, 2025 Posted November 24, 2025 I'm currently watching Nosferatu and have noticed at some points the audio cuts out for approx 1 second, it then resumes but the audio is then out of sync until you seek or pause/resume. I've uploaded a quick video showing this happening here: I deleted the file and downloaded another version, and that did the same at the exact same parts. I deleted that and tried 3 more. Exactly the same in each one at the same parts? only appears when using the trueHD 7.1 audio track, if I select the DTS-HD 5.1 it does not trigger. am running emby server 4.9.1.90 ran in a container and am playing on an nvidia shield, have tried using the android and android TV app and same behaviour on each embyserver.txt
AsheAshe 8 Posted November 27, 2025 Author Posted November 27, 2025 To add to this, I use a led light sync box by fancyleds. I've read today that the device doesn't do truehd pass through, so thought that might have been causing problems somehow but I've just tried it bypassing the box and straight from avr to tv and get the same behaviour. weird that it is happening at the same parts in multiple different downloads? Let me know if any other logs needed etc
AsheAshe 8 Posted December 17, 2025 Author Posted December 17, 2025 Hello, just checking in to see if any suggestions around this?
Luke 42077 Posted December 29, 2025 Posted December 29, 2025 @AsheAsheis this only with certain files?

But it happens at the same point in every copy I download. for example in Nosferatu extended UHD rip i am up to 01:11:18 and every copy cuts out here. I wonder if it is related to what is being discussed here https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=188341 https://www.reddit.com/r/PleX/s/vHZgMNVZRb This references a fix that Kodi has apparently made: https://github.com/Nevcairiel/LAVFilters/issues/624 yer this suggests it's shield software related https://www.reddit.com/r/ShieldAndroidTV/s/N4leGEj9I7
AsheAshe 8 Posted January 2 Author Posted January 2 Yes the more I read about this the more it makes sense with the time stamps. It's essentially where there is a uhd release with theatrical cut and directors cut on same disc so two Audio cuts and it's where the audio merges. It happens to a select group of media but it will happen at specific points where the audio does merge seems like it requires development at shield level, and Kodi is unaffected because they use a different media player than emby & plex might be the only solution is to use Kodi for just files that exhibit this behaviour Again, non trueHD tracks will work fine on these as well as rips where it's not from a branched audio uhd release but probably won't know until it happens THE LIST (12/23/2025): “1776” Avatar Avatar Way of Water The Natural 40 year old Virgin A Knight’s Tale Kingdom of Heaven Lethal Weapon Nosferatu (2024) Stripes M3gan The Martian F9 Fast and Furious Empire Strikes Back Aliens The Abyss Wrath of Khan Star Trek the Motion Picture Black Hawk Down Step Brothers Blues Brothers Apocalypse Now Final Cut Pitch Black Leon Professional Underworld Rudy Resident Evil Apocalypse Conan the Barbarian Baywatch Hellboy (2004) Halloween Kills Candyman (1992) The Grudge (1080p blu ray TrueHD 5.1)* Ghostbusters Answer the Call Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Trilogy (Disc 1)
