Problem and/or clarification on download

I'm trying to download a movie to my tablet via Wi-Fi... I click download (1.5 Mbps) but I don't see anything in the downloads. On the server, I see the file I selected for download being converted, but I don't see any progress.
If I go to my tablet, I don't see anything in the downloads.

Hi, it looks like it has to be converted, so this happens first before the download.

Ah but conversion necessary or not?

And if not necessary where i can enable/disable it ?

It will only convert if necessary.

Ok i follow you but now on server i have this "ready for download"... but remain in this stage.

On client (tablet) nothing download

After the conversion, shouldn't the download start automatically?

Yes - the emby app will be checking for any ready downloads and would start a download if the file is not already in the downloads on the device

Relaunch the app and connect to the server through wifi and wait - it should start to download

Not start... In severa the file is ready and in the client emby on pad Apple nothing happened..

OK. Lets get some logs - for a new download

So suggest first enabling debug logging on the server - see Log Files

Then relaunch Emby Server

Then on the iPad exit the Emby for iOS app and relaunch it

Connect the Emby for iOS app to the emby server with an account that has downloads allowed through wifi

Select a media file on the server that has not been downloaded before and select download

Monitor status of the download on the emby server dashboard - it should go to converting and then ready for download and then downloading

If you are sure this does not complete or start downloading whilst the app is available and connected through wifi and running and open on the iPad then download the emby server log file and attach here together with details of what was being downloaded and when and how long you waited for it to complete.

Thanks, I'm attaching the log, but I think I've solved the problem, at least for now. I was downloading multiple files from my iPad, but none of them would download, even if they were converted. I tried downloading just one at a time, and this time, no problem...

Do the logs you provided cover the time when the problema arose ? when downloading multiple files to the iPad and none of them would download ?

Let me know which files because I do not see a problem in the log. Tell me what did not download

Can you tell me if there were other downloads during this period?

And the multiple files you mention - were these separate episodes / movies that you were selecting and starting downloads for and having a number in progress ? I cannot see this in the log - can you tell me when you did that within the period covered by the log file (2025-11-25 15:08:35 to 16:01:49)
