Collection Identification not working

Recommended Posts

All - I have a similar issue.  Emby is grouping movies into collections but can't seem to identify the collection.  If I manually try to identify it, no matter what I enter, I get no results when I search.

The Movie DB and The Open Movie DB are select in the library.

Folder Structure (Example):

Nobody

    [01] Nobody (2021)
        Nobody.mkv
    [02] Nobody 2 (2025)
        Nobody 2.mkv

This used to work beautifully, and I'm not sure what changed.  I recently upgraded to 4.9.1.90 on Ubuntu 24.04, but I can't confirm that this started after the upgrade.  I don't believe that is the case.

Here is the content of my server log from that window, but I didn't see anything useful.  Maybe you will.

Movie Naming

Thanks @NeminemTotally explains why it wouldn't auto-detect.  But no matter what I search when I try to manually identify (collection, movie), I get zero results.

Hi @Lukehappy to.

I no longer return any results when I create a collection (even ones that are created automatically). In the attached video, Emby automatically created the "Nobody Collection" but couldn't identify it.  When I try to manually search for a collection, no matter what I enter, I get no results back.  This used to work perfectly, and unfortunately, I can't pinpoint when the change occurred.  Log files attached.  Please let me know what other info I can provide.  Thx.

Is TMDB meta-provider still enabled in your Collections library (Settings>Library tab), in case server update disabled it? If it is, try unchecking/unticking it and then checking/ticking it back on, see how does that compare.

Since your screen does not look like this it means you do not have enabled providers on the Collection library.

Thanks guys.  Huge help.  I had the Metadata providers setup for the movies, but not for the collections themselves.  Appreciate it.
