Hikano 1 Posted November 21, 2025 Posted November 21, 2025 (edited) Sorry if anything is unclear, it's my first time posting an issue For the past few days, I've been having problems on Emby, mostly on high-bitrate media (if my analysis is correct). I haven't changed a thing except updating it and I'm sure it isn't about my devices or the files since I tend to watch one in particular quite often on both devices. I'm running Emby on a Raspberry Pi 4 through Docker and it updated it automatically, so assuming the update is the cause is just a guess on my part. Also, I've tested some other files, some are watchable, others aren't and I only tested these on my computer (Windows, on the web app) and on my Chromecast (Android TV), on my TV it says "Direct Play" but still buffers, on my PC it says converting to HLS but it always did and worked just fine I don't allow video transcoding on the server nor limiting the bandwith embyserver.txt Edited November 21, 2025 by Hikano
Luke 42077 Posted November 21, 2025 Posted November 21, 2025 Hi, please attach the ffmpeg log as well. Thanks.
Hikano 1 Posted November 21, 2025 Author Posted November 21, 2025 I think it's this one, thanks for the support ffmpeg-remux-a9a00672-ef19-481e-82dc-12311752aef8_1.txt
Hikano 1 Posted November 25, 2025 Author Posted November 25, 2025 I know but those files never had any problem and I still have it when it's on 'direct play' on my TV, I don't think it is because of transcoding And correct me if I'm wrong, but not allowing transcoding kicks you out of the video, right? It doesn't happen here even when disabling these options
Hikano 1 Posted November 25, 2025 Author Posted November 25, 2025 Other episodes I know I watched two weeks ago have that problem now, and the only thing that's changed is Emby updated, I don't know if it's related but except this I can't tell what could be the problem There's another file that's 2 mbps, playing through direct play (audio and video), the file isn't corrupted or anything but it doesn't play at all, so I'm very confused

Luke 42077 Posted November 30, 2025 Posted November 30, 2025 Did you try enabling all of those check boxes?
Hikano 1 Posted November 30, 2025 Author Posted November 30, 2025 (edited) Yes I tried enabling them but the result is still the same. As I said, even direct play doesn't work on my TV, same with other devices that are better And old media I used to watch with the same settings have that problem now Edited November 30, 2025 by Hikano

Thanks !
Hikano 1 Posted December 23, 2025 Author Posted December 23, 2025 The problem was resolved on its own, I don't know what changed except my router (I had about 800mbps so it would be weird if it was the reason) Thanks for the help! 1
