So I just called Verizon and their solution is to send me a set top box. Basically going back to the old days.

It took awhile to get to me in VA, but I just got the same message. My plan is to switch to ChannelsDVR, but I'm interested to hear what device Fios actually sent you. Just a set top box right? Any other options besides ChannelsDVR? If that's the only option, where are those steps to set up Emby to record from ChannelsDVR?

I believe this type of router would work with Verizon fiber FIOS. Verizon just doesn't mention this because they don't want the headache of answering support questions.

I think you would want a -3.5 db split coax connection off of the master incoming cable.  If Cable channels start to get artifacts, you may need a Coax line amplifier / booster, as well, usually only needed for large property with 50 foot+ cable runs and more than 3 TV cable connections.
