gerry.emm 10 Posted November 20, 2025 Posted November 20, 2025 Hello everyone... lifetime member here... Can anyone please tell me what is going on with BOTH Microsoft Edge as well as Google Chrome? Since yesterday, clicking ANY of the options in the system tray menu simply brings up the browser, be it Edge or Chrome, with the EMBY logo, and...boom...nothing more???? I can no longer get into the configuration menu, I can't go to the libraries or any of it!!! All I get is the browser with the EMBY logo... I've tried both Edge and Chrome with the exact same results... makes getting into ANYTHING next to impossible Can anyone please shed some light on what is happening, and how to fix it? Luckily the server still works, but I do need to get access to do some maintenance, etc. Thanks in advance to anyone that can help!!! Gerry

Gerry FWIW: I just tested both Edge and Chrome and I see nothing like you describe. However the description sound like your entire system needs a full restart. That is a restart of the server at a minimum and a restart of your whole network and all devices attached to it might be needed.
gerry.emm 10 Posted November 21, 2025 Author Posted November 21, 2025 Hey guys... Thanks for taking the time!!! Here is a screenshot of what I get, no matter what option I choose in the startup menu...whether I choose "Browse Library", "Configure EMBY"or "EMBY Premiere", that's what I get! The ONLY options that DO work are "Restart EMBY Server", "Visit Community" or "Exit"...SOOOOO...I can't get in to "configure" or get into the "library" or ANYTHING!!! It's the same, whether I use Chrome OR Edge to load the server...PLEASE HELP!!! THANKS a TON in advance ALL!!!! Gerry...
GrimReaper 4739 Posted November 21, 2025 Posted November 21, 2025 In your Task Manager, do you have multiple instances of embyserver.exe running? Have you tried clearing browsing data? Rebooting the server machine (not only restart Emby server)? 1
bandit8623 213 Posted November 21, 2025 Posted November 21, 2025 have you cleared your browser cache? or tried to factory reset the browser?

Happy2Play 9780 Posted November 21, 2025 Posted November 21, 2025 (edited) All I can suggest if bring up the browser console and check for errors (F12). May need to see a server log also. Have you tried LANIP:8096 instead of localhost:8096? Edited November 21, 2025 by Happy2Play

While those both "should" do exactly the same thing I got into the habit of always using the lan address even if I am on the computer that hosts Emby. That is the only difference I can think of that might, for some reason, cause the problem you that is being seen. I know I have absolutely nothing in my system that might cause issues. I do remember seeing or hearing some time ago that there was a type of problem that causes "localhost" to misbehave while local IP address works fine. So I defiantly agree that this is a direction for investigation that might yield results. Good luck.
bandit8623 213 Posted November 21, 2025 Posted November 21, 2025 (edited) this maybe a windows issue. do you have ecc ram? if not try these in cmd prompt with admin rights. DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth SFC /scannow these commands verify windows files. it will tell you if it finds any errors. if it does reboot.
