Is there a way to navigate channels with channel up/down or similar?

Hi,

Starting to use some of the LiveTV features and curious if there's a way to have a bit quicker navigation between the channels I have set up.
Currently using VirtualTV but I believe this is not specific to that, but just in case.

Specifically, when I choose a channel from guide, I'd like to be able to one-press into another channel without having to go back to the guide and choose another channel.

Is this at all possible?

In case it matters I'm using a Shield for my primary device.

Thanks!

Hi, during playback you can use channel up/down buttons if your remote has those.

Hmm trying this seems to seek ahead or behind on the video that is playing.

What exactly did you press? What exactly happened?

Pressing channel up/down on my LG TV remote, using the LG Emby app, causes it to jump to the next/previous chapter in the currently playing video.

Hi.  What did you expect to happen?  If you are not playing Live TV then there are no "channels".

It is Live TV. However it is a channel built from Virtual TV.

That said, trying it on a live channel in a Live TV test M3U playlist has no effect at all. The button press does nothing.

Only playback mode "Native" or "Continous" will result in a real live tv like channel behaviour.

Thanks Luke. Reading that thread, it looks like the LG channel numbers and up/down events are not currently working.

Would a paired bluetooth remote or other device be able to bypass this, or is this unavailable entirely at the app level?

Let me know if you prefer me to reply in the other thread.

I don't know. You'd have to just try it. It depends on what commands it actually sends.
