Unable to forward/rewind/skip/resume

Hello,

I have both the Emby (3.5.16) and Emby for Android TV (2.1.23g)  installed on my nvidia shield (v9.2.2(33.2.0.382).  I have been using the Emby TV app and it works fine, but as I understand it is no longer being developed I test the newer Emby  app from time to time to see how it's getting on.

 

Last time I used the Emby app it just randomly crashed during playback, so I gave up and went back to Emby for TV.

This time  it will not perform basic functions such as forward/rewind/skip or resume playback form where I left off. 

Has anyone else experienced this, if so, how did you resolve it?

Seems to be getting worse rather than better.  Have I got this wrong?  Is the Emby for TV the new one which is being developed and Emby is the one on the way out?

You're not the only one.  I have been trying to be vocal about these issues lately because the emby devs want to get rid of embyTV.  The app that actually works correctly.  

The standard android app is the one they expect people to be happy about.. even though it doesn't do basic playback correctly yet and crashes often.
