Recording layout changed

Tthe layout of the thumbnails for the Live TV "Recordings" have changed from a row & column layout to just a singular row since the last update.  This has had a big impact on the WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor) and I've been tasked and put under some mild spousal duress to get it back to the original layout.

Note that this is how it's showing up on my TV (single lines) in the app but it's in the row-column mode in the browser version (on tv) or in the app on my PC.  See images for clarity.

I've been through the menus but can't seem to locate an option for that, so I just restored a backed-up version that I knew was in the preferred layout.  That worked until it decided to reset to the single line again 24 hours later.  DOH!  Anybody know how to fix this?

"Emby Theater 3.0.20" is shown on my settings screen on the TV.

Have you tried using the new windows app shown below? You might find server updates break the superceded 3.0.20 moving forward.

Sure did.  Yes, it fixed the grid but It has a lot of problems.  It's been a bit, but IIRC, it crashed several times, muddled up some channels, Channel up/down in grid list stopped working (along with other options), and a few options weren't where they were supposed to be (moved in system?).  Not a good experience.  It felt and operated more like an alpha version of something so it's a no go for me....and if it irked me, the missus would be really put off by it!

The reason for the change is based on other user feedback. We are doing our best to make everyone as happy as possible.

I can appreciate that to some extent, but why is it one way in the app on TV and another through the browser?   Why is the layout different from all the other screens (ex. Movies)?  I makes no sense and it limits what can be seen on the TV layout.  Why would anyone want that limitation?  Why is it not some sort of layout option rather than an abrupt change that can't be rolled back?

As soon as your apps get updated they will be consistent again.

That's not the point.  I did install the app and it's causing issues for me.  Additionally, there are changes such as what I noted with the thumbnail arrangement, that aren't user accesable or controllable.  There are other issues as well even though nothing in my setup (OS, computer, remote, tuners, etc.) except Emby has changed for years.  For example:

1. I get random bugs in the operation that didn't occur with the previous program such as delayed actions all the way to just crashing out.  Reinstallation fixed about 50% of this.  No idea why as there's no changes made by me.
2. No option for startup on windows boot.  It was in the previous version of the program, but that option disappeared in the app.  Yes, it can be done via startup in windows but why was it removed/moved/not included?
3. Remote pause button during playback of music does nothing.  This worked fine in the original program.
4. No option to prevent exit of app on 'back' when the side menu is up.  Again, this was an option in the previous version.  Why was it removed/moved/not included?
5. The back button now just jumps me back to the main screen.  So I can be 3 levels deep in something (artist/album/track) and it won't let me go back to the same album or artist.  It just sends me back to the main screen.  Same for tv series.  I can be levels deep in it, and if I simply want to go back to another season, it sends me back to the main screen.  Same for when I'm in the App settings.  Again, I can be levels deep in changing something and pressing back on the remote won't bring me back one step, it just jumps me to the main screen.

These are just 5 things off the top of my head that are clustering up the Windows App version and I'm sure there is more I've forgotten or aren't a big deal.  Telling me to just use it is just blowing off my request for assistance.  I had a simple question as how to get it back to the way it worked well and now I've got to write an essay outlining why I'm asking it.

My conclusion is that I need to ditch the App in lieu of it getting updated/patched/fixed/removed or whatever and go back to what I had running, even though it's got that stupid little issue regarding the thumbnail layout.  It makes no sense that the program doesn't follow the layout of the web-based version but the App does.

Is there any way of fixing that layout as I originally asked?
