xmltv parsing issue?

Recommended Posts

I feel like there's an issue with the xmltv parsing, as all I see in my guide data is "SIGN OFF" for the channel associated with the attached xml file.

I extracted this data with:

xq -n -x "//programme[@channel='NBALeaguePass(DallasMavericks).us']" my-epg.xml > issue.xml

But this is what I see in the program data:

The xml data looks valid, with no overlapping date/times, but the actual programs are simply not showing up.

Server Emby version: Version 4.9.2.6 beta (issue also existed in 4.9.1.80)
OS: Ubuntu 25.04

Is there something I'm missing here? Parsing this same xmltv data with other programs (jellyfin/kodi/etc) shows the correct data.

Hi, does the xml contain that text?

Are you asking if the XML contains "sign off"? the XML data is attached to the initial post and yes it contains "sign off" with games in between.

That's the only data that's in the xml. There are no games in there. What would you like it to display, and where would you like it to come from?

There sure looks like there is data in the sample when there is a game.

<programme start="20251114210000 +0000" stop="20251115013000 +0000" channel="NBALeaguePass(DallasMavericks).us">
  <title lang="en">SIGN OFF</title>
  <desc lang="en">Sign off.</desc>
</programme>
<programme start="20251115013000 +0000" stop="20251115043000 +0000" channel="NBALeaguePass(DallasMavericks).us">
  <title lang="en">LA Clippers vs. Dallas Mavericks</title>
  <desc lang="en">NBA Basketball</desc>
</programme>
<programme start="20251115043000 +0000" stop="20251115060000 +0000" channel="NBALeaguePass(DallasMavericks).us">
  <title lang="en">SIGN OFF</title>
  <desc lang="en">Sign off.</desc>
</programme>

There's a game directly in-between both of those "SIGN OFF" times from what I see.

OK, but do those times in the xml correspond to the screenshot that you're showing us? There is no way to verify that. Thanks.

Yes, all that is seen throughout the whole 24 hours on the channel that we're looking at here is sign off. you can scroll plus or minus 48 hours and see nothing but sign off.

in the meantime, I'll try to get a better screenshot that has relevant timestamps as well to make it super clear. 👍
