Strange 5g/LTE video freezing (not audio)

If I'm on home wifi, and switch to mobile network, I have to close the app, and start it again, (that's not the issue though) and ever since the newest Android 16 update (pixel 10 pro XL) when I start a video on Mobile network, it loads and plays fine... For like 9 seconds. Then the video freezes, audio keeps playing, will play through the whole episode with audio only. If I try to seek, it freezes altogether.

I don't think this is a bandwidth issue, compared to wifi, LTE loaded just as fast, didn't stutter. And using an external player, or jellyfin plays the video without any stuttering. And, I've enable hotspot and tested emby on a Linux tablet, no issues. If I thought this was bandwidth related, I wouldn't be here. I don't think it's reverse proxy related either, as it works on a wifi network at a vape shop I help with network stuff on.

I don't have ANY experience debugging android apps-- but it someone wants to link me an android logcat for dummies guide, I'm confident I can follow it and provide that. Edit: I see the logs section in the emby app now, will obtain a log next time I go out, home LTE is too slow

Also, I've tested direct play, transcoding, and even checked to see if it was specific to a codec, nope, it only happens when I switch to LTE on my android 16 pixel. I just realized my lil bro also has a pixel 10 (not pro or XL) I can test it on later, but other than that I'm stumped on how to move forward.

I will follow up on a second post with transcode logs in a bit, I'm away from the server testing this

Try playing with these settings in your mobile app.

Because of this.

TranscodeReasons=ContainerBitrateExceedsLimit

Also do you transcode to HEVC ?

Try turning that off.

wow you know what, i think that fixed it... why would hevc only have an issue on a mobile network? i had no issue transcoding to hevc (according to stats for nerds) on local WIFI or outside the network on WIFI

Hi, we'll have to take a look at that. But yes that's why it is marked as experimental. Thanks.
