Ale229 2 Posted November 13, 2025 Posted November 13, 2025 Hi, I’ve installed Emby app for Android TV on my Sony Bravia, trying to play a couple of mkv file transcoded with very high bitrate but they doesn’t start. Used my LG tv and they worked fine, anyone could help me? I’m not very practical about this app or the codec I should use, everything is updated (Emby Server, app and tv)

Hi, ok, I’ll Try: So, I was on my Android Tv, trying to reproduce Lord Of The Rings (in Italian), the playback doesn’t start. On screen there’s a blu circle (as if it’s loading) but the movie doesn’t start. The movie works on Lg TV on the same net and on the web player on my MacBook. The log was sent at 18:36 (Italy Time) User is Ale (I don’t’ know if on the server is saved as Ale229). I have the same problem with all the trilogy of Lord of the Rings and Costantine. If you need I can send the info of the file using MediaInfo.
Luke 42077 Posted November 13, 2025 Posted November 13, 2025 HI there, please attach the emby server log as well. thanks.
ebr 16169 Posted November 14, 2025 Posted November 14, 2025 Hi. Can you try searching for our standard android app (Just "Emby" on Amazon and "Emby for Android on Google) on the same device's app store and see how that compares? Thanks.
Ale229 2 Posted November 14, 2025 Author Posted November 14, 2025 Hi, sorry if it takes long @Lukei don’t know how Inca attach the log, I’m using on tv @ebrI tried yesterday before writing here but had the same problem unfortunately. Yesterday I was able to play the video clicking on the line before the file info in the menu at the very right of the screen, probably it transcoded the video.

I have another problem, if I am at home I’m able to play, outside at my girlfriend house and at my parents house I’m not able to access anymore. I know it’s a different problem, just to not create a new post.

This right? Emby for Android TV/Fire TV and Emby for Roku Logs These apps have the option to send an app log to us electronically. You enter the settings page and turn on the "Debug Options". Now there will be a new tile on your home page settings row (or menu option on the user menu at the top) labelled "Send Log". Reproduce your problem and then use this button to send the log. Then add the following information to your report in the forum: Exactly what you were doing and what happened. Include the name of whatever you played if it is a playback problem The time you sent the log (in Eastern Time please - UTC -5) The name of the Emby user on the local server that was logged in at the time I’ve sent in the post after, I did solve the problem about the playback more or less, have some little problems with the remote connection. Trying to assign a static Ip on the server at the moment. 1 1
