Request: Full Missing Episode Report Across Entire Library

Is there any way to generate a list of missing episodes — including specials — that doesn’t require me to open each series one by one? I’ve got over 1,000 series, my OCD has entered its “Hulk smash” phase, and I’m one mis-tagged season away from throwing an external drive out the window.

Also… if my library is structured exactly like this:

External Drive → TV Shows G to Q → M → Malice (2025) [tvdb=445181]

…is there any logical explanation for why:

Some shows refuse to register as the correct series?

Others decide to rename themselves, as if they’re entering witness protection?

A few get grouped with completely different shows?

And Emby keeps insisting I have “multiple locations” when I absolutely do not — unless it knows something I don’t and my hard drive is spawning folders at night?

Because honestly, at this point I feel like my media library is gaslighting me.

Specific examples would be required, together with server logs covering particular timeframe when issue(s) occurred.

Thanks I can't really be bothered reporting it as a problem as it goes nowhere it was just incase someone had an idea off the top of their head.

I'm sorry you feel that way but I would disagree with that statement - some issues dont get solved, true, that's just the nature of things but as a general rule, vast majority of them are at least responded to and troubleshooting attempted.

Not knowing any particulars about your setup, what should we look for and without logs to glimpse what calls are being made and if anyting errored out - hardly anyone would even guess. If you ever change your mind and decide to report, feel free to open a topic under respective forum section.

Thanks for your reply. I understand what you are saying and my setup was based on the recommendation of Emby support due to its size. But I have given up on most things Emby thats why I run Plex parallel but neither of you can give me the missing episode report which is truely frustrating. I will just do it one by one.

Hi, but don't you want a personal media server and not one that puts all of your information into the cloud to sell to the highest bidder. That sounds a bit invasive, no?

I totally agree with you on that point Luke wish is why I run both and under an alias because of of this. As for the Metadata Manager missing episodes it has given some but not all or how to export it. My current list is telling me I am missing 7,884 and some of what is missing is actually there. I think the reality of the situation is to manually identify each series and then manually look at missing episodes based of IMDB and TVDB.

Or just use Sonarr purely for tracking purposes.

HI there, can you please provide a specific example?

How to Report a Problem

Thanks !

Hint: Most likely cause is the season and episode number not set in Emby.

That is also why I am saying I will need to identify each series myself then run the report again, then I will go from there.
