DarkStar1977 119 Posted November 11, 2025 Posted November 11, 2025 (edited) Hi Emby team. I don't know what you've done with versio 4.9 but it's a bad surprise after another. I've had specifically all movies that have more than 1 version (normal/open matte, etc) splitted into different movies because is how I WANT IT. With different pictures for each one and different naming. Why the hell v4.9 decided to put it all together with multi-version selection into 1 title ? Why this is enabled by default if I had a different configuration before ? I have dozens of movies with this and it's not specially easy to split them again, that means I have to remove identification, split them appart and then re-identify all of them and modify it again. (At least plex have a contextual menu for separate it). Really version 4.9 seems a poor beta product. Edited November 11, 2025 by DarkStar1977 1
GrimReaper 4739 Posted November 11, 2025 Posted November 11, 2025 Sorry, not sure I follow all that - are you saying your movies are merged even though library auto-merge is None? 14 minutes ago, DarkStar1977 said: Why this is enabled by default if I had a different configuration before ? When before? 4.9 introduced that feature. I'm saying that before this feature I had the movies separated. V 4.9 has been released with this feature enabled by default, causing that in the first library scan all my multi-version movies are joint and now I have to manually separate dozens of movies, because disabling the switch is not reverting it back to a separate state. Next time a feature like this is included, must be disabled by default.

GrimReaper 4739 Posted November 11, 2025 Posted November 11, 2025 (edited) Unfortunately I cannot reproduce, I've just split-merged-split-merged my library and it behaves as expected upon each scan. Tried to look for any clues in debug logs, couldn't find anything related when items are split or merged (or errored on it). @Lukeare there any entries in the logs at all that might shed some light when items are split and/or merged? Happy2Play 9780 Posted November 11, 2025 Posted November 11, 2025 As a test I have a test library with nest folders with different version and all I had to do is set option to NONE and do a library scan to unmerge them. All were merge before setting to None.
