Trailers don't work in Emby universal android app

Emby for android 3.5.16 reinstalled, removed all ad blocking and still not getting trailers.

Select a movie, click trailers:

On my Phone (Emby for android 3.5.16) it goes to load it, I see a black screen then it goes back to movie view.

On My Shield (Emby for android 2.1.23g (latest in play store?) ) I get "This video is unavailable Error code: 15"

On your Shield you will have to sideload 2.1.28g for now (until Google updates the store) or use the Emby for Android app 3.5.16.

Which one would that be? I've just tried the manual APK from here https://emby.media/emby-for-android-tv.html and still get Error 15. Looks like it downgraded to 2.2.26g

2.1.28 is still in beta, try the link below for the apk

Perfect 2.1.28 (9 Nov) is playing trailers now. 

I do get a message saying something like I should use a different version as it has now has more features. 

 

Going forward I assume google play store will have the correct / updated version?

That's just EMBY trying to push you to use the Univeral Android app.

Ignore it if you're happy with the ATV app, or until such times as it breaks and won't be fixed.

It may not be updated in the store anymore.  It's been submitted to the Android beta store (waiting to be approved), but there has been some discussion in other threads that Google may not update both apps in the store going forward.  As long as they update the apk when needed you should be fine.

I've been having this issue for the past month, no trailers playing on any media using Emby 2.1.23g on CCwGTV. 

Is this going to be resolved with an upcoming release?

You can also sign up for the beta program through Google and have it delivered to  your device normally.
