bedgear 0 Posted November 7, 2025 Posted November 7, 2025 Apologies for adding to an old post, but I believe that my issue is related to this and not a new one (Please let me know if I should open a new issue instead). I encountered a similar issue, perhaps the same one. I have a couple different type of playlists; some M3U based and read from the library and some that I created in Emby itself. After updating to 4.8.11 (from 4.8.7, I believe. I cant remember the version that I had directly before .11 but I do know it was a couple minor releases behind) it appears that the Emby created playlists have had their permissions modified in a way that means none of the existing users have permissions to modify them at all. The error I get is as follows: Error PlaylistService-0HNGTIFJAESTB:000000B1: User does not have Write access for this item. Current access: None This is when trying to edit any metadata for the playlist, or add items to the playlist. In looking around I cant find a way to edit the permissions either, as "Manage collaboration" is no longer an option for any users. It appears to be maintaining some kind of permission info, as only my standard user (for media viewing) with which I created the playlist is able to even view the contents. The admin user that came with setup and has all the permissions cant see the contents nor can it change anything about it. I can create new playlists that are editable, and add items to them. I cannot, however, remove the now uneditable playlists. They do not exist with my M3U file playlists in the library, and they appear to be just stuck there. Losing the permissions and having to remake the playlist is a minor inconvenience (I was able to just add the entire playlist to a new one) being unable to remove the now essentially dead playlists is a bit more of an issue. I have updated to 4.9.1.80 hoping that perhaps the issue would go away, and it has not.
