Testing on Samsung 75" with Emby 2.1.0 today. And I only use SRT subtitles that are embedded in MKV as that is only format that they work. I have several files with different subtitles, some of them show on Emby as options on subtitles but selecting them produces nothing. HI, can you please provide a new log example from after doing that? Thanks.
JJKOM 1 Posted November 22, 2025 Author Posted November 22, 2025 Now subtitles work in Samsung 75" with Emby 2.1.0 With LG it starts buffering - for several minutes and nothing happens. In server I get "playing" (attached image), I can send "message" to LG TV and it shows immediately. Pressing "play" in server starts playing that file but still no subtitles. embyserver (7).txt

Luke 42077 Posted November 30, 2025 Posted November 30, 2025 @JJKOMcorrect me if I'm wrong but it looks like your NAS just can't transcode this content quickly enough? If you disable the subtitles prior to playback, how does that compare?
JJKOM 1 Posted November 30, 2025 Author Posted November 30, 2025 If there is no subtiles then playback is instant with LG. But: Samsung 75" with older Emby did not display subtitles without transcoding, but with transcoding it does display and there is no delay. And as before, Samsung 55" with new Emby has no need for transcoding. So difference is in Emby versions.
