Emby for Android TV trailers not working

Recommended Posts

Hello Emby community,

I have been reading the forums and I have seen a few posts about this issue. I am using Emby for Android TV on my TCL QM8 Google TV. I noticed my trailers stopped working. You Tube is giving an error 15 when trying to watch any trailer. I downloaded the other Emby Android app and the trailers are working so I am guessing the issue is with the Emby for Android TV app. I wanted to know if there is a fix for this issue??

Thank you for any help

Hi.  Can you try searching for our standard android app (Just "Emby" on Amazon and "Emby for Android on Google) on the same device's app store and see how that compares?

Thanks.

Read the posts fully  @Luke- he's already stated that he's already "downloaded the other Emby Android app", but he obviously prefers the ATV app.

The ATV app needs to be fixed.

I also prefer the Emby for Android TV app on a TV screen VS the Emby for Android layout.

The trailers are also not working for me with the Emby for Android TV app... V 2.1.23g

Are you sunsetting the app?

I found there are 2 emby clients in the google playstore. One called „emby for android“ with version 2.9.something :  NOT WORKING, one called just „emby“ with version 3.5.something : BINGO that one showed the trailers.

good luck !

Bonjour,

Good morning,

I have the exact same problem.
I downloaded both apps: the one for Android TV and the one for regular Android.
The trailers work on the regular Android app, but they don't play on the Android TV app (error code 15).

It was fixed in v2.1.28 of the Android ATV app, but you may need to sideload the app.

See here for the latest downloadable apk file.

Thanks for the update CBers.. Do you know when they will officially release on the Play Store? I'd rather get it from there vs sideloading it.

Thanks again 🙂

Also waiting for stable version. Sideloaded newest, think ~2.31 and started to get black screen for a 10-20 seconds when switched sources on AV receiver.  With 2.123g version everything works fine.

Also Live Tv not changing audio tracks at least from tvheadend  plugin. Playing only first audio track. (Emby for Android, web client playing all audio tracks). Not really problem for me as playing audio tracks, I need. No one else have access to Live TV.

I experienced the same.

Using the standard Android version, trailers work on my nVidia Shield.
