danielmartinhq 1 Posted November 4, 2025 Posted November 4, 2025 Hey everyone, I’ve been seeing a lot of talk lately about people using third-party app stores to install Emby or related apps on iOS — especially since Apple’s restrictions sometimes make it tricky to use certain features or beta versions. I’m curious if anyone here has actually tried installing Emby from one of those alternative app stores (like Scarlet, AltStore, etc.)? How stable has it been for you? Any issues with playback, updates, or account syncing? I’m trying to figure out if it’s worth going that route or if I should just stick to the official App Store version. Would love to hear what’s worked (or not worked) for you all.
Luke 42077 Posted November 4, 2025 Posted November 4, 2025 Hi, just for reference we are not currently listed in any third party iOS app stores. That's not to say we might not be in the future, but we'd have to research each one individually and see which one might make sense for us.
danielmartinhq 1 Posted November 10, 2025 Author Posted November 10, 2025 Thanks for clarifying that, Luke! That makes sense — I figured Emby might not be officially listed yet. I’ve just seen a few users mention using third-party options like Scarlet or AltStore to sideload the app, so I was curious about how those setups hold up in practice. It’s good to know you’re open to researching those platforms in the future. For some iOS users, especially outside the U.S., having an alternative install option can make a big difference when dealing with App Store limitations. Appreciate the update — I’ll stick with the official version for now and keep an eye out for any future support through stores like Scarlet. 1
