Stuttering video and no subtitles on nvidia shield

Hey,

running the 3.5.15 Android app on Nvidia shield. And when I try to watch some movies the movie stutter and no subtitles are shown. I go to the correct playback issues and press try once. And it fixes something. And the video does not stutter, and subtitles are shown. Why is this? what's happening and how can I fix this permanently?

It seems like the stuttering is gone. But still no subtitles.

Any eta on the subtitles not working when movie is started? Still have to go trough the "fix playback issues" to get subtitles to show for this movie I used for debug.
