Hi Luke, there seems to be widespread issues with trailers, has youtube changed their policies or requriements for developers?

Google Play Policy updates (October 30, 2025): Google announced several updates to its Play Console policies, affecting all Android apps. While these are not specific to YouTube, they do increase restrictions on developer actions and require full compliance, making it harder for unauthorized apps to operate.

The 30th was when trailers stopped working on Emby for Windows coincidencely.

Sorry Luke, I don't see that the Amazon Fire TV Emby app has the option to send the log in its settings.

Anyway, I'm sending you a couple of screenshots.

When I click on a movie trailer, it always gives error 15, which says the trailer doesn't exist, but it does exist because the Emby website is working.

Hi.  Can you try searching for our standard android app (Just "Emby" on Amazon and "Emby for Android on Google) on the same device's app store and see how that compares?

I've installed the Android version and the trailers work fine.

But I'd like to use the Fire TV version if possible because I much prefer its appearance and functionality, as I've been using the Fire TV app for years.

So the trailers issue it's for Fire TV.

As I mentioned, it's for cosmetic reasons, but also because I'm used to seeing the title and year below each movie and displays more information, such as audio and video, on the same screen, and Emby for Android doesn't display it that way.

(I've also noticed that Fire TV apart from the issue with the trailer, no longer plays video themes.)

@Luke, if the Android app version is the same for cellular and Fire TV, why does the movie title and year appear on the phone but not on Fire TV?

Hi. That app has never supported video themes - just theme songs.

Try disabling the home screen option to show the focus preview, and then you'll see more info underneath each poster.
