Betonhaus 18 Posted November 1, 2025 Posted November 1, 2025 Would it be possible to set it so the Emby automatically falls back to a more compatible file format whenever a client continues to have playback errors? A lot of my media is in HEVC format but a lot of devvices don't natively support it and it doesn't seem that Emby will automatically transcode for them even though i have an intel A310 in my server to do so.
Solution ebr 16169 Posted November 1, 2025 Solution Posted November 1, 2025 Hi. We already do this. Let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
Betonhaus 18 Posted November 3, 2025 Author Posted November 3, 2025 (edited) I was trying to play content on a Samsung TV but any HEVC content refused to play unless I converted the entire series using Emby then it played fine. The same media refused to ply in Brave on my Linux mint computer. I guess I'm not really clear as to how Emby handles things so i need to research it more. Plus i don't have access to the TV anymore Edited November 3, 2025 by Betonhaus

Hi, Emby apps already automatically do this. That's why I was asking for the specifics of an example so that we can look into what happened. Thanks.
