alex77777 16 Posted November 1, 2025 Posted November 1, 2025 I'm not super experienced with Linux in general so just a heads up. I installed Emby server via the Snap Store and everything works fine but I tried setting up commercial skip as a post process and just can't seem to get it to work. It say file not found in the logs when it does try to run it. Seems like permission issue with Linux, is there a specific folder I need to put post process application so Emby is able to access it?
alex77777 16 Posted November 1, 2025 Author Posted November 1, 2025 Im referring to the post process application for recordings, it records fine just doesn't seem to be able to run the commercial skip application. I also am able to run the commercial skip application file via command prompt just cant get emby server to run it.
TMCsw 247 Posted November 1, 2025 Posted November 1, 2025 If you really want things to work in Linux, don't use snaps... Install Emby on bare metal or in Docker, or in an LXC. Snaps' or flatpack's sandbox the app and make things so much more difficult... Uninstall the SNAP then. Download and install the proper deb from: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Releases/releases Please get back to us if you're still having trouble...
alex77777 16 Posted November 2, 2025 Author Posted November 2, 2025 I've definitely considered doing that, maybe some day in the future I will. I was just seeing if there was a simple way to get post process applications to work but I'm pretty certain its a snap/permission issue. Thanks for the advice
TMCsw 247 Posted November 3, 2025 Posted November 3, 2025 I don't know if this will help you, but this post may be??
