Live TV not playing on Android (non-AndroidTV) app. Onn TV 4k Plus

New device:

Onn TV 4k Plus: Amlogic S905X5M

Freshly installed Emby apps with no settings changed:

Emby Android (non-AndroidTV) App version: 3.5.15 (default settings) When I play a  LiveTV channel (only certain channels, aerial rather than satellite) I only get a still image with no audio: logs attached.

Emby Android (non-AndroidTV) App version: 3.5.15 (changed settings):: Works when I enable external player but with audio lag, no other setting makes any difference

Emby Android TV App version: 2.1.23g: All channels play no problem with default settings.

 

Older device:

Onn TV 4k (not Plus):  Amlogic S905Y4

Freshly installed Emby apps with no settings changed:

Emby Android (non-AndroidTV) App version: 3.5.15 : All channels play no problem with default settings.

Emby Android TV App version: 2.1.23g: All channels play no problem with default settings.

 

I have tested the above multiple times and it is repeatable.

Emby Server: Version 4.9.2.6 beta

TVHeadend providing the TV streams.

Dashboard shows direct play in all above tests

HI, are you able to use playback correction in the player and see if that helps?

Tried playback correction (3 times) with no improvement.

1st time I pressed it there was no change (I still had a static image of the live TV feed no audio), 2nd and 3rd time I pressed it I just had a black screen.

Updated logs attached.

 

Note device I am testing with is connected via ethernet to the TVheadend server with 350+ Mbps reported speeds on iperf3.

Android TV app still works perfectly, Andoid universal app only having these issues.

I changed my backend from TVHeadend to NextPVR (For more reasons than this bug but was still hoping it may fix something.

Still the same issue (more logs attached again).

 

Just want to repeat so I am making it clear:

The live TV channel I want to play works perfectly in the AndroidTV version of the app but just not in the Universal Android App.

Exact same device moments apart and completely repeatable. Playback correction as per my last post & logs, does not fix anything.

 

@Lukeany advice here?

Tuner is a HDHR Connect Quatro connected to aerial and running via NextPVR (as I also have a Digibit R1 for my satellite channels via NextPVR).

Satellite channels work perfectly but HDHR Quatro channels do not work as described.

I previously (when I started this thread) had the same set up via TVHeadend rather than NextPVR and the results were the same. (HDHR Quatro = Not working, Digibit R1 = Working)

 

ALL channels work on the Emby ATV app (HDHR Quatro = Working, Digibit R1 = Working)

Any further updates on this issue?

 

It is a pity to have to swap between apps for Live TV.
