Brendon 119 Posted October 31, 2025 Posted October 31, 2025 Why is it that if I move an album from one directory to another that is still within the same audio library, the moved album(s) now suddenly become new releases? I use .nfo files and the date added has not changed in the .nfo so why are albums that emby has stored for over a decade suddenly become new releases because i group them into a folder or move them from one folder to another??
Luke 42077 Posted October 31, 2025 Posted October 31, 2025 Hi, what is the date added of the tracks in Emby?

Emby metadata is ignoring the album date added in both the emby db and nfo and changing it at track level to the date they were moved, it is then basing latest releases on track date. Have attached a video showing you what i mean @Luke 2025-11-01_11-22-32.mp4
Luke 42077 Posted November 1, 2025 Posted November 1, 2025 Latest is based on files, not the album, so this is why that’s happening.

So why are the files changing when i move them @Lukenot like the left Emby they just got put into one folder within the same library, tracks should have the same date added time as the album.
Luke 42077 Posted November 3, 2025 Posted November 3, 2025 Isn't that a question for your file system? The files probably have different date created timestamps from before? And how is the date added behavior option configured on the server?
