Tigga5 39 Posted October 31, 2025 Posted October 31, 2025 When watching something from the "Universal" Android app, pressing the Home button on my remote causes the video to continue playing in Picture-in-Picture mode. Is there any way to disable that? There’s really no scenario where I’d want playback to continue once I leave the app, and that wasn't an issue with the old app that was designed for Android TV. I already have “Video player back button behavior” set to Stop, which correctly stops playback when I press Back. Unless there’s a separate setting for the Home button that I’m missing, I’d expect it to follow the same behavior as the Back button based on that setting’s value. Am I missing something, or could this be added or adjusted in a future update?
GrimReaper 4739 Posted October 31, 2025 Posted October 31, 2025 That is default Android behavior. You can revoke Emby app PIP permission to disable it.
Tigga5 39 Posted October 31, 2025 Author Posted October 31, 2025 Well, that’s certainly intuitive… I'm surprised that's default Android behavior considering I don't have any other apps that do that by default, and the previous "Emby for Android TV" app doesn't do that either. It would be great if Emby offered its own setting for this, or at least tied the Home button behavior to the existing “Video player back button behavior” option rather than requiring users to dig through system permissions to change it. 1
