Justin757 8 Posted October 28, 2025 Posted October 28, 2025 How to rotate video in emby android and lg web OS? LG webos inbuilt player have option to rotate the video. Is there a way to play the video in lg webos built in player?
Justin757 8 Posted October 28, 2025 Author Posted October 28, 2025 Clockwise for some video and anticlockwise for other videos.
marriedman 85 Posted October 28, 2025 Posted October 28, 2025 I might be able to answer this @Luke! My wife has some sort of aversion to holding her phone in landscape mode when taking pictures or recording video. She also does not have auto-rotation enabled. When she begins playback, the movie is either upside down or 90 degrees off. Its annoying in the extreme and she refuses to hold the phone "correctly", it's up to me to figure it out for her in post-process. 1
Justin757 8 Posted October 29, 2025 Author Posted October 29, 2025 Some videos are taken vertically in iPhone and those videos seems to be rotated. To correct that we need to rotate the video either clockwise or anticlockwise. Samsung vertical video is kind of stretched as horizontal video. Please offer to play in external device like stremio so built in player comes in TV and we can rotate to any direction as we wish.
Justin757 8 Posted October 29, 2025 Author Posted October 29, 2025 Please note I am talking about lg oled tv only. When we play the same video in android mobile via emby app it's correctly oriented even when auto rotate is enabled.
Luke 42077 Posted October 29, 2025 Posted October 29, 2025 Emby will automatically detect the rotation data though and apply rotation. Does it have that?
Justin757 8 Posted October 30, 2025 Author Posted October 30, 2025 Seems like yes since the video is correctly playing in android. Emby on lg tv is rotating in wrong direction if emby is using rotation data.

Thanks!
